Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon
Mr Nick Kopsachilis MD PhD
Mr Nick Kopsachilis is an experienced Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon, specialising in complex corneal disease, cataract surgery, and laser refractive procedures.
He completed his ophthalmology training at two of Germany’s most prestigious eye hospitals, in Munich and Nuremberg, before undertaking advanced subspecialty training at Moorfields Eye Hospital and King’s College Hospital in London—both internationally recognised centres of excellence.
He has completed his PhD on an artificial cornea model and has obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Cataract and Refractive surgery with distinction.
Since 2016, Mr Kopsachilis has led the Cornea Service at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. In 2019, he was appointed Clinical Lead for the entire Ophthalmology Department. He has a strong interest in academic research and has authored more than 80 peer-reviewed scientific publications.
He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and an active member of several professional societies, including: The American Academy of Ophthalmology, The European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, The German Ophthalmic Society and The Hellenic Society of Intraocular Implant and Refractive Surgery.
