At Kent Eye Centre, our specialist surgeon offers comprehensive evaluation and treatment for functional and cosmetic concerns, including entropion, ectropion, ptosis, and upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty.

Symptoms

Entropion

• Eyelid turning inwards
• Irritation, redness, or watery eyes
• Sensitivity to wind or light
• Gritty or scratchy sensation due to eyelashes rubbing on the eye

Ectropion

• Eyelid turning outwards
• Excessive tearing
• Dry, irritated eyes
• Recurrent eye infections

Ptosis

Blepharoplasty

Diagnosis

Treatment

Entropion

• Lubricating drops or temporary taping
• Quick in-clinic procedures using sutures
• Definitive surgical repair to reposition the eyelid

Ectropion

• Lubrication for symptom relief
• Surgery to tighten and support the eyelid
• Correction of underlying causes (e.g., scarring or laxity)

Ptosis

• Surgical lifting of the upper eyelid
• Strengthening or reattaching the eyelid muscle
• Procedures tailored to age, severity, and eye function

Blepharoplasty

• Upper blepharoplasty: Removal of excess skin and fat to improve vision and appearance
• Lower blepharoplasty: Reduction of eye bags, tightening of skin, or repositioning of fat
• Performed for both cosmetic and functional reasons

Costs

A consultation including comprehensive assessment is at a cost of £200.  The cost of any surgical treatment required will be discussed at the consultation appointment.
